How can I locate a Prayers & Squares Chapter near me?

Click on the chapter map link at the bottom of our home page. Enter your city in the search bar. Teal markers show locations of chapters. Click on a marker to see contact information.

What kind of quilt patterns should we use? What size quilt do we make?

Any pattern, any size – whatever works best for your group. We recommend keeping it simple. The beauty of the gift is in the prayers, not in the quilt itself. Just be sure you use new, quality materials that have been washed, and that your quilts will withstand normal use and laundering.

How do we renew our Chapter membership?

There is no need to renew after you have officially joined Prayers & Squares. You will remain on our active chapter list unless you contact us to have your chapter removed.

I belong to a Prayers & Squares Chapter. How do I get the password to log in?

Contact your chapter leader for the log-in password that was provided when you joined Prayers & Squares, or email us with your name and chapter number.

I don’t sew. How do I make a prayer quilt?

You can use a purchased comforter, blanket or a piece of soft fleece. Gather a group of friends and family to hold and touch the quilt as you pray together. You will be filling the quilt with the collective power of your prayers for the person in need.

We can’t make a quilt in time to fill a request. What should we do?

Consider making a “Prayer Square” instead. These are small (8” to 16”) one-block quilts. They can be made quickly and used for situations where a larger prayer quilt does not work. Knots and prayers can be made by chapter members, or by the recipient’s family, friends, or caregivers (for example).

Can a single chapter be comprised of more than one church or organization?

Definitely, as long as together you work out how the prayer quilts will be presented for tying, and as long as the focus is on prayer. We have chapters that are comprised of more than one congregation, and we have chapters that are non-church groups. 

How can I request a prayer quilt for myself or a friend?

Unfortunately, Prayers & Squares International is unable to fulfill requests from individuals seeking prayer quilts. Quilts come from individual Prayers & Squares Chapters. Refer to our chapter map to find one in your area, or consider making your own prayer quilt.

Do I have to join Prayers & Squares to make prayer quilts?

We would love to have you as a Prayers & Squares chapter, but you do not need to join to help blanket the world in prayer. Membership allows you to use the name “Prayers & Squares” and to order labels with that name and logo.
